The diploma of youth work is a nationally recognised qualification that will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work effectively with young people aged 12-25. The diploma covers a range of topics such as working with vulnerable young people, developing youth programs, and managing risk.
To be eligible for the diploma of youth work, you will need to be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident; be at least 18 years of age; have completed Year 12 or equivalent; and pass an online LLN assessment test. You will also need to have – or obtain – a current Working with Children check and Police check.
The certificate can be completed in 12 months, depending on your study schedule.
Yes, the certificate is a nationally recognised qualification and will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work with youth aged 12-25.
You do not need a certificate to work as a youth worker. However, You'll need a level 2 qualification to work with young people aged 16 and 17. You'll need a level 3 qualification to work with young people aged 18 and over. A degree in social work, psychology, or a related field will give much experience.
